Actor and broadcaster Yu Tung has opened up about his life with his late-born daughter, Mimi, and the frightening moment his health took a turn for the worse.

On May 7, a video titled “Yu Tung, married 8 times, why is he worried about parting with his late-born daughter at 67?” was uploaded to the ‘Special World – That Person Back Then’ channel. The clip features content from episode 661 of MBN’s ‘Special World’, which originally aired in 2024. In the episode, Yu Tung shared updates on his life in Korea with Mimi, his daughter from his previous marriage to a Mongolian woman 33 years his junior. He explained that he has been raising her alone since bringing her to Korea in 2022.

During the show, Yu Tung revealed the reason behind his sudden health decline. He confessed that after sharing glimpses of his family life on his personal channel, he became the target of malicious comments and terrifying threats aimed at his daughter. “There were threats to kill Mimi, and threats of sexual harassment and sexual violence. I was shaking with fear,” Yu Tung shared. He described the severity of the situation, saying, “My tongue stiffened and I couldn’t speak. One side of my body lost all its strength, and the hospital told me that if the emergency treatment wasn’t handled correctly, it could lead to a brain hemorrhage.”

Despite the trauma, Yu Tung’s love for his daughter kept him going. “I told myself countless times that I had to get back up for Mimi’s sake, that protecting her was the most important thing, and that I needed to recover my health first,” he said. The broadcast also showed a touching scene of Mimi staying by her father’s side during his illness. Fortunately, the doctor diagnosed his condition as better than expected, and Mimi shared, “I’m happy to be with Dad.”
Born in 1957, Yu Tung is an actor and broadcaster well-known for having married and divorced eight times. From 2010, he spent seven years in a common-law marriage with a Mongolian woman before officially marrying in early 2017. However, he ended the relationship in 2019 after discovering his ex-wife had a new partner. MBN’s ‘Special World’ airs every Thursday night at 9:10 PM.
