Comedian Jo Hye-ryun recently opened up about her college classmate, Hong Seok-cheon.
On the 10th, a video titled “The 46th Jo Hye-ryun Mockery Party” was uploaded to Lee Yong-jin’s YouTube channel.
During the episode, Jo Hye-ryun admitted, “To be honest, I didn’t want to appear on the ‘Mockery Party’.” She explained, “I like Yong-jin and his content, but the atmosphere seemed intense. I turned it down several times because the other guests were people like Shin Jung-hwan, Kim Jang-hoon, and Hong Seok-cheon.”
Lee Yong-jin jokingly asked, “Aren’t those all people you’ve dated?” to which Jo Hye-ryun wittily replied, “We almost dated,” sparking laughter. She then revealed, “Hong Seok-cheon was my college classmate, and back then, he liked women,” even mentioning the real name of the person he liked.

When Lee Yong-jin teased, “Did he become gay because of you, senior?” Jo Hye-ryun clarified, “It wasn’t because of me. Things just didn’t work out with XX.” She added that his vibe changed while he was involved in theater.
Meanwhile, Hong Seok-cheon came out as gay in September 2009, sharing that he did so “to be honest in front of the person I love and to be happy myself.”
