Comedian Yang Sang-guk has confessed that the dating views he shared on ‘Pinggyego’ were actually an exaggeration.
In an interview with OSEN on the 12th, Yang Sang-guk admitted, “I spoke as if I were tough on ‘Pinggyego,’ but that’s not the case. In my last relationship, I dropped her off every day for two years.”
Opening up about his broadcast persona, he shared, “Since I’ve been loved for my ‘Gyeongsang-do man’ character, I felt a strong need to speak more aggressively.” He apologized, saying, “I think I crossed the line while trying to show the image people expect from me.”
He further explained, “My real personality is nothing like that, but I acted excessively because I thought I had to be different from my true self in front of the camera.” He also clarified that he was very polite to the other cast members on set.

Previously, Yang Sang-guk faced backlash over his attitude during an appearance on the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun’s content ‘Pinggyego’. When Nam Chang-hee mentioned that he finds happiness in preparing breakfast and walking his wife to the bus stop after marriage, Yang Sang-guk remarked, “If you stop doing it after starting, they might feel the love has cooled.” He added, “Seoul men do it often, but we (Gyeongsang-do) don’t do it at all. I’ve never dropped a girlfriend off at her house.”
He also made some viewers uncomfortable when he told Yoo Jae-suk, “Yoo Jae-suk, if you say it one more time, you’ll be in trouble.”

Similar reactions followed during the May 9th episode of tvN’s ‘Amazing Saturday,’ where Yang Sang-guk raised his voice and suddenly performed a roundhouse kick while failing to go along with Kim Hae-jun’s roleplay. As these incidents repeated, viewer reactions have become increasingly cold.
