The cheers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North & Central America are about to echo through KBS!
Exactly 30 days before the opening of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, KBS1 will air a special live broadcast titled “2026 FIFA World Cup D-30 Special: For Victory!” today (12th) at 7:20 PM at the KBS Hall in Yeouido for 70 minutes of high-energy excitement.
This special is designed to wish for the success of the broadcast and the Korean national team’s performance. Most notably, “World Cup icon” Lee Kyung-kyu, who once defined World Cup cheering culture through “Lee Kyung-kyu Goes,” returns to KBS as a host for a large-scale live show, raising fans’ expectations. After the show, Lee Kyung-kyu plans to fly directly to North & Central America to share the cheering energy, which will later be revealed on “The Boss’s Ears are Donkey Ears.”
Lee Young-pyo, known for his sharp and cool football analysis, is stepping away from his analyst role today to join in as a cheerleader. He will add sincerity to the show by joining major university cheering squads from across the country to pray for Korea’s success. His warm and passionate side, interacting with the public, is expected to bring a fresh sense of emotion to viewers.

The chemistry between announcer Um Ji-in and announcer Nam Hyun-jong, who will be the main commentator alongside Lee Young-pyo for this World Cup, is another highlight to watch. The combination of these three sports-loving MCs is expected to ignite the World Cup boom.
The artist lineup is just as dazzling! Trending girl group H1-KEY, the heavenly voices of LA POEM, national singer Kim Ki-tae, the embodiment of passion Kim Jang-hoon, and Korea’s energy queen Kim Yon-ja will perform cheering songs that transcend generations.
A KBS official stated, “Tonight at 7:20 PM will be an important starting point to send the energy of victory all the way to North & Central America. Since even the cool analyst Lee Young-pyo is joining in, we hope this becomes a festival where all citizens can unite as one.”
