Premiering in June, MBC’s new variety show ‘Rollercoaster’ is a reality program that focuses on exploring unique and exotic amusement parks that make up the top 1% worldwide and are little known to the public. Noh Hong-chul, Choi Kang-rok, Go Kyung-pyo, and Pani Bottle will dive into everything from thrilling rides to festivals, snacks, and merchandise, making the hearts of theme park lovers race.
As the entertainment industry’s representative free spirit, Noh Hong-chul will enjoy a fresh and spontaneous journey on ‘Rollercoaster.’ His new challenge and sincerity in turning imagination into reality are already sparking curiosity.
Choi Kang-rok, who became a hot topic for his unconventional move of closing his restaurant after winning a cooking survival show, is the “ultimate star.” Despite being extremely introverted, he is expected to show a surprising side as a hidden rollercoaster expert with unexpected stamina and courage. ‘Rollercoaster’ is reminiscent of ‘Imagination Expedition,’ which aired on MBC 20 years ago. It was a segment of ‘Sunday Night’ that aired from April to October 2005, created by PD Yeo Woon-hyuk of ‘Knowing Bros’ and star PD Kim Tae-ho.
The original show was an “imagination-transcending project” that discovered the world’s best imaginations and experienced the scientific principles behind them, aiming to upgrade viewers’ perspectives by traveling the globe. It gained popularity primarily through the members’ reactions while riding the world’s most famous rides. It featured Lee Kyung-kyu, Lee Yoon-seok, Yoon Jung-soo, and Jung Hyung-don.
