Taeyang brought plenty of laughs as he discussed everything from his Coachella Festival behind-the-scenes to the viral MAMA falling meme. He especially caught attention by revealing the secret behind that legendary stage, saying, “I got back up as if falling was part of the dance.”
On May 12, a video titled “I don’t know anymore! Bangchella behind-the-scenes, new song behind-the-scenes, and meme behind-the-scenes fully revealed” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Salon Drip 2’, featuring Taeyang as the guest.
During the episode, Taeyang mentioned his recent buzz-worthy ‘Ringa Linga’ solo stage at Coachella. Regarding the shirtless scene, he laughed, saying, “That was improvised. I keep seeing the clips pop up, maybe because it looked cooler than I expected. I’ve been enjoying them.” When asked if he usually enjoys showing skin, he waved his hand in denial, explaining, “That’s a misunderstanding. I’m actually very shy.” However, he honestly added, “This promotion period had an unusually high amount of exposure.”
Taeyang also opened up about BIGBANG’s signature “non-synchronized” performance style. “I feel wronged! We actually practice a lot and do so many rehearsals,” he emphasized. “We put in an incredible amount of effort to achieve synchronized dancing.” However, he burst into laughter, adding, “But for some reason, once we get on stage, we just don’t match.” Taeyang shared, “I was very stressed about it in the early days of our debut, but later I realized I was the one not matching the most. I think that eventually became the BIGBANG style.”
He specifically addressed the MAMA falling incident that became a meme among fans. Laughing, Taeyang said, “People think it was a dance. Some even did challenges.” He recalled, “I pretended nothing happened when I fell, but my body was automatically keeping the beat.” He sparked more laughter as he admitted, “I was surprised when I saw the monitor. I got back up so perfectly.”
