[Exclusive] Jung Yi-rang to Make Special Appearance in 'New Recruit 4: Sabotage' Out of Loyalty to Director Min Jin-ki

Actress Jung Yi-rang is coming to the rescue with a special appearance in the new drama ‘New Recruit 4: Sabotage’!

According to YTN Star, Jung Yi-rang will appear in ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama ‘New Recruit 4: Sabotage’ (Directed by Min Jin-ki / Produced by Story Island), scheduled to air in the second half of this year. She will play the role of a vending machine manager within the military unit, adding more flavor and humor to the story.

This special appearance happened thanks to her bond with Director Min Jin-ki. Jung Yi-rang has been a beloved crew member of tvN’s ‘SNL Korea’ for over 10 years, and she decided to support ‘New Recruit 4’ to honor her loyalty to Director Min, whom she met through the show.

‘New Recruit 4’ is the fourth season of the popular ‘New Recruit’ series, returning about a year after the previous season. Season 4 will depict the latter half of military life for Park Min-seok (played by Kim Min-ho), who falls into endless worry upon being promoted to Corporal. The second act begins with the arrival of a mysterious new recruit and a battalion commander.

This marks Jung Yi-rang’s first time entering the ‘New Recruit’ universe. Having worked with Director Min Jin-ki on ‘SNL Korea’ and showcased a wide range of acting in both comedy and drama for a long time, fans are excited to see her presence and acting chemistry in ‘New Recruit 4’.

Another highlight to watch for is her reunion with Lee Su-ji. Lee Su-ji, an ‘SNL Korea’ crew member and an original cast member of the ‘New Recruit’ series, is a key part of the ‘Min Jin-ki squad’. Having previously worked together in ‘Sister Cafe’ and ‘Sister Chicken’, curiosity is peaking about their chemistry in ‘New Recruit 4’.

Meanwhile, the ‘New Recruit’ series, which began with ‘New Recruit 1’ in 2022, has established itself as a competitive drama IP. In particular, Season 3, which aired last year, maintained the weekly number one spot on TVING throughout its run, sparking a re-watch craze for Seasons 1 and 2 and proving the IP’s high scalability.

‘New Recruit 4’ will be released in the second half of 2026 on ENA and KT Genie TV.
