Police Clear Tzuyang of False Accusation Charges; Gujeyeok Found Guilty of False Accusation

Mukbang star Tzuyang and her agency staff have been cleared of false accusation charges filed by YouTuber Gujeyeok (real name Lee Jun-hee).

According to a report by Financial News on the 13th, the police decided not to send the case to prosecution due to insufficient evidence. Tzuyang’s team is reportedly considering further legal action against Gujeyeok for his false accusations.

The Daejeon Dunsan Police Station closed the case on the 29th of last month. Gujeyeok had previously filed a complaint claiming that Tzuyang had been spreading false information and repeatedly filing false lawsuits for over a year since July 2024.

However, during a re-investigation triggered by Tzuyang’s counter-suit, police discovered that Gujeyeok had manipulated voice recordings to favor himself and intentionally filed false charges. The police determined there was clear intent to falsely accuse and have sent Gujeyeok to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment.

Gujeyeok is currently serving a three-year prison sentence confirmed by the Supreme Court for extorting approximately 55 million won by threatening to expose Tzuyang’s past. He is continuing the legal battle by filing a trial appeal.

Meanwhile, news has broken that the main channels of YouTuber Karakyula, who was involved in the extortion case against Tzuyang, have recently been shut down. While Karakyula claims this was a system reaction to organized reports from specific groups, industry insiders believe the decisive reason was the controversy surrounding the secondary victimization of a bereaved family during an interview with a suspect in a case of bodily injury resulting in death.

Karakyula was sentenced in the first trial to one year in prison, suspended for three years, for aiding and abetting the extortion of Tzuyang. Despite his attempts to return after a period of self-reflection, Tzuyang’s side has rejected his 20 million won deposit and is calling for severe punishment. Tzuyang’s team clearly stated they have no intention of settling, saying the depositor is not sincerely reflecting on his actions.
