Broadcaster Seo Dong-ju has opened up about her long struggle with infertility and the pain of miscarriage, sharing her current efforts to conceive.
Recently, a video was uploaded to her YouTube channel ‘Seo Dong-ju’s Tto.Do.Dong,’ showing her visiting a famous oriental clinic in Gyeongju with her husband.
Seo Dong-ju visited the clinic, which is known as a “pregnancy sanctuary” among couples struggling with infertility. She mentioned, “I saw it on a show before, and Director Jang Hang-jun and Writer Kim Eun-hee reportedly got pregnant after visiting this clinic.” She added, “It’s a place of legend. I’ve heard many people successfully conceived after going there.”
Expressing her excitement, she said, “It’s a clinic that’s over 130 years old, and I managed to get a reservation. I was so thrilled to finally visit this legendary place that I fell asleep with a fluttering heart last night.”
The clinic truly had a mysterious atmosphere that reflected its long tradition. After touring the interior, which operates on a 100% reservation basis, Seo Dong-ju couldn’t hide her emotion, saying, “The vibe is so good. Everyone, I’ve finally entered this place. I’m almost in tears.”
During her consultation with the doctor, Seo Dong-ju honestly revealed her history of 10 egg retrievals, IVF treatments, and one miscarriage. She expressed her amazement, saying, “Surprisingly, the doctor listened to my situation briefly and knew everything just by checking my pulse.”
Regarding the diagnosis, she shared, “In conclusion, the doctor said my physical strength is actually very good.” She added, “Because I have a positive personality and don’t realize when I’m struggling, I tend to work too much and have lived while overworking my body.”
She also revealed, “I’ve cut back on coffee now, but I used to drink a lot of it.” She noted that she got goosebumps because the doctor guessed that correctly as well.
After returning home, Seo Dong-ju shared her calm reflections. “This trip was really exhausting, but more than anything, I feel proud,” she said. “Whether it’s changing hospitals or visiting this clinic, I feel like I’m doing my absolute best as a human being, regardless of the outcome.”
She confessed, “If I still can’t get pregnant even after visiting this famous clinic and moving to a better hospital, I think I can accept that as my fate.” She added, “I actually feel more relieved now.”
Meanwhile, Seo Dong-ju, the daughter of Seo Se-won and Seo Jeong-hee, married in the US in 2010 but divorced in 2014. After continuing her active broadcasting career, she remarried a non-celebrity four years her junior on June 29 last year in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Her husband is known to be a director at the agency where broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu is signed.
