PD Kim Min-sik shared his secrets to becoming wealthy on ‘You Quiz’.
In the tvN variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block’ aired on the 13th, PD Kim Min-sik, who directed the sitcom ‘New Nonstop’ and the drama ‘Queen of Housewives’, appeared to share his story.
During the episode, Yoo Jae-suk welcomed PD Kim Min-sik, mentioning, “The ‘Wolcheon Geosa’ who earns 10 million won a month after retirement, you’ve become a hot topic for your solid retirement planning.”
PD Kim Min-sik said, “I left MBC in 2020. At the time, there was large-scale restructuring due to the difficulties caused by COVID-19, and I left because I didn’t feel confident I could handle it.”
Yoo Jae-suk asked how he planned his retirement, and PD Kim Min-sik replied, “My goal at age 20 was to ‘become rich someday.’ To become wealthy, there are three stages: earning, saving, and growing.”
He continued, “But before that comes ‘frugality.’ Earning money isn’t always within my control, but saving money only requires controlling my own desires.”
PD Kim Min-sik shared, “In your 20s, the important thing is to develop a habit of saving; in your 30s, it’s about being recognized at work and increasing your salary; and in your 40s, you need to create an exit strategy by building a portfolio to generate various streams of income.”
He added, “Becoming rich simply means spending less than you earn. The larger that gap, the faster you become wealthy. First, you must save. Whenever I received my salary, I saved it unconditionally. I basically had five or more bank accounts,” drawing attention.
