Boom revealed that he learned a great deal about hosting from veterans Kang Ho-dong and Kim Seong-ju.
During the press conference for TV CHOSUN’s new variety show ‘Miss Trot For You’ held on May 14 at the Gasan-dong studio in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, Boom shared his hosting secrets. He stated, “While working on ‘Star King,’ I learned stage dominance and how to create characters for those who want to become stars from Kang Ho-dong for over five years. From Kim Seong-ju, I learned the art of hosting, managing rankings, and handling death matches.”
He continued, “I believe ‘Miss Trot For You’ is the show where I can truly shine. It features competition and viewer participation. Rather than feeling pressured about how to handle it, I’ve found myself genuinely enjoying the process, laughing and crying along with everyone during the recordings.”
Boom also recalled his early days on ‘Star King,’ admitting he used to get nervous around non-celebrity participants. “Back then, Kang Ho-dong told me, ‘Love them. If you love them, the right words will come.’ Now, I make sure to show love not only to the TOP7 but also to guests like (An) Seong-hun and all the non-celebrity participants. Even if it’s one-sided love, I give it my all,” he added, drawing applause from the crowd.
Meanwhile, ‘Miss Trot For You’ is a passionate and touching duet music show featuring the ‘Miss Trot 4’ TOP7 and special partners. It is the first spin-off variety show for the ‘Miss Trot 4’ TOP7 (Jin Lee Sona, Seon Heo Chan-mi, Mi Hong Seong-yun, Gil Ryeo-won, Yoon Tae-hwa, Yoon Yun-seo, and Yeom Yu-ri). The first episode airs on May 14 at 10 PM.
