[Exclusive] Record-Breaking Lim Ji-yeon to Star in New Drama ‘Alike’

Lim Ji-yeon, known as a “guarantee for ratings success,” has finally decided on her next project!

According to reports on the 14th, Lim Ji-yeon will play the lead role in the drama Alike, where she will be taking on a dual role.

She will portray Lee Eun-seok, a likable and ordinary person full of cheerfulness, cuteness, and humor. While she is a law-abiding citizen who loves her family and believes in the value of hard work, a fierce and passionate side awakens the moment someone carelessly tramples on her efforts.

Alike is a modern-day “The Prince and the Pauper” revenge story. It follows a poor job seeker who barely lands a job, only to be fired and even sent to prison in place of a second-generation owner simply because they look alike. After this, she teams up with other underdogs to overthrow the “king.” It is a thrilling tale of fight and romance in a gray zone where the line between good and evil blurs, depicting the birth of a villain we can’t help but root for.

Lim Ji-yeon has established herself as a “trusted actress” with her incredible performances in The Glory, House with a Garden, and The Tale of Lady Ok. Furthermore, Wonderful New World, which premiered last week, made history as the first SBS Friday-Saturday drama to hit number one on Netflix’s “Global Top 10 Non-English Shows” weekly ranking in its first week. With global eyes on her, she has chosen Alike for her next acting transformation.

The drama will be written by writer Kim In-young and directed by PD Noh Young-seop.
