The bond between Sung Si Kyung and Raisa began at Sung Si Kyung’s year-end concert. Recalling the moment, Raisa said, “I went to see the performance at the invitation of a close friend. I didn’t expect that a simple visit for enjoyment would lead to working on music together.”

Sung Si Kyung explained, “After the performance, Raisa came to take a photo, and I was told she is a very famous singer in Indonesia. We kept in touch via SNS, and the idea that it would be fun for two singers to duet came up naturally, which led to an actual collaboration.”

Their cover of “Endless Love” became a huge hit immediately after release, garnering over 2 million views on Instagram and 1 million views on YouTube.

The fact that the original artist, Lionel Richie, left a comment also sparked a lot of buzz. Sung Si Kyung shared his excitement, saying, “It’s touching enough that the person who created ‘We Are The World’ listened to it, but it was truly an honor that he even left a comment.”

Raisa also expressed her satisfaction, noting, “The reaction that our two voices suit each other well is the most memorable.”

Currently, the two are preparing to record a new duet song scheduled for release in June. Sung Si Kyung mentioned, “It was a song I originally had for a winter release, but when I played it for Raisa, she loved it so much. There was no reason not to work on it together.”

Raisa raised expectations for the new track, explaining, “It’s a song where you can really feel a Korean sensibility, so it felt even more fresh and attractive.”

She also didn’t hide her love for Korean culture. Raisa revealed, “I really love Korean dramas. Through dramas, I naturally became interested in Korean music and singers, and I’ve always wanted to work with a Korean artist someday.”

On the other hand, Sung Si Kyung gave a witty response regarding the possibility of promoting in Indonesia. Laughing, he said, “Supply without demand is difficult,” but added, “If I’m invited, I’ll happily run there anytime.”

The two expressed their hope that this collaboration serves as a special bridge connecting fans from different countries.

Meanwhile, the full pictorial and interview of Sung Si Kyung and Raisa can be found in the June issue of at-style.

The collaboration between these two artists, which naturally transcended borders and languages, proves once again that the power of music can unite even different sensibilities.
