According to Star News on the 14th, the upcoming episode of “I am Solo” airing on the 20th will reveal the final stories of the cast as they head toward the final selection. During this process, Ok-soon’s screen time is expected to increase compared to the broadcast on the 13th.
However, the final selection results will not be revealed in the May 20th episode; Season 31 is planned to conclude on the 27th.
The broadcast on the 13th drew significant attention as it was the first episode following the controversy on the 6th, where Ok-soon, Jung-hee, and Young-sook were caught talking behind Soon-ja’s back. However, viewers were surprised to find that Ok-soon’s appearance was so minimal it was almost like she had been completely edited out.
In the episode, Ok-soon chatted with Jung-hee and Young-sook in their room after a date with Young-ho. She continued the backstabbing by telling Young-sook, who unfortunately lost the super date ticket mission, “In our hearts, Young-sook is number one.” However, during the scenes where she was chatting in the room with Jung-hee and Young-sook, she was mostly lying down without moving or barely participating in the conversation.
Furthermore, the episode featured more segments such as poetry reading, pansori dictation missions, and running races. This led to criticism from viewers that these scenes were simply “filler” to pad the runtime.
Ok-soon, who has emerged as the biggest villain of Season 31, previously remarked on the 6th that Soon-ja “tied up” Kyung-soo, preventing Young-sook (who had feelings for Kyung-soo) from intervening. She stated, “Honestly, the two of them don’t look good together,” and added, “I think Kyung-soo just made a safe choice” and “Soon-ja makes promises for the next day when parting, like ‘I’ll make rice cake soup for you tomorrow.'”
However, these comments were heard by Soon-ja in the next room, who later confessed, “I had to pretend I didn’t hear, so it kept building up,” and “I feel like I’m being subtly ignored.”
Watching this, MC Defconn commented, “This is too much. It’s scary,” and urged, “Ok-soon, Jung-hee, and Young-sook, please apologize to Soon-ja.” He did add, “But please don’t leave too many comments.” Following this, the “I am Solo” production team re-uploaded a revised version of the video with some of Ok-soon’s remarks deleted and added a caption at the end of the broadcast saying, “Please refrain from excessive criticism toward the participants.”
Immediately after the broadcast, Ok-soon’s past history mentioned during her self-introduction was highlighted again. She revealed that she “served as a spokesperson for a powerful presidential candidate’s camp in the past.” Her Instagram account is currently set to private.
Unreleased footage of Ok-soon’s conversation with Soon-ja also became a hot topic.
On the 9th, the YouTube channel ‘Village Chief Entertainment TV’ released an unreleased clip titled “When is this going to end Soon-ja waiting anxiously for the conversation between Kyung-soo and Young-sook to finish.”
In the video, Soon-ja looked anxious while waiting for Kyung-soo and Young-sook to finish their talk. To this, Ok-soon said to Soon-ja, “Is this a documentary? Did someone die? Why is it like a funeral home? Why are you like this? Smile a bit, smile.” Soon-ja responded with a smile without speaking.
Additionally, when Kyung-soo and Young-sook didn’t return for a long time, Ok-soon asked Soon-ja, “Are you jealous?” When Soon-ja replied, “Of course I’m jealous. It can’t be helped,” Ok-soon responded, “What do you mean it can’t be helped? Love is something you fight for.” When Soon-ja countered, “I am fighting for it,” Ok-soon reacted, “Oh my, look at that confidence.”
Amidst the intensifying backstabbing controversy, this video has since been taken down from the channel.
