Actor Park Sung-woong, a graduate of HUFS Law School, pulled off a dramatic comeback in Netflix’s variety show ‘Death Game: The Last Winner’ Season 2, successfully securing a spot in the top 6.
In episode 4, released on the 13th, the second main match titled “Great Heritage” took place. While Yuri Sa and Heo Sung-bum had already advanced to the top 6, Seo Chul-gu, Park Sung-woong, Kiki Jiyu, and Pengsoo battled fiercely for the final remaining spot.

“Great Heritage” is a psychological auction game where players bid for artifact cards and strategically increase their value to earn points. With artifact cards themed around Korea, Egypt, and France, along with special cards like “Fake Determination” and “Re-evaluation,” the game was full of unpredictable twists. The core strategy was how to distribute 140 coins across 22 auctions for a total of 25 items. Commentator Jang Dong-min advised that “planned play based on a goal is key” and that “chip counting of opposing players is essential.”
The players’ strategies were distinct. Jiyu analyzed the opponents’ funds through coin counting, while Pengsoo focused on stable management by targeting cheap items. Seo Chul-gu concentrated on securing points by completing collections. Meanwhile, Park Sung-woong chose a strategy of intentionally raising bid prices to drain the other players’ coins. Pengsoo brought some laughs to the show, showing off his confidence by shouting, “Come at me all at once! Senior Jang Dong-min, are you watching?”
Jang Dong-min emphasized that “as the rounds progress, some people will be unable to participate in the auction because they run out of chips.” Seo Chul-gu led the early game, taking 1st place after securing artifact cards like “Starry Night” and “Egyptian Mural.” However, he began to falter in the latter half due to a lack of coins and the unpredictability of special cards. Ultimately, a “Fake Determination” card led to a massive 7-point deduction, causing his ranking to plummet.
On the other hand, Park Sung-woong shook up the flow by aggressively bidding for special cards instead of artifacts. While it seemed like a strange move at first, it was a calculated strategy to exhaust the opponents’ coins. After lingering at the bottom of the rankings, he surged to 1st place at the very end, confirming his spot in the top 6 with a dramatic reversal. Showing his competitive side, Park Sung-woong remarked, “‘Death Game’ should not be approached with conventional thinking.”
The eliminated players also shared their thoughts. Seo Chul-gu stated, “I’m grateful and happy that a place like this exists.” Pengsoo caught attention by saying, “The world of competition is beautiful because winners and losers coexist.” Jiyu also mentioned, “This was the most fun filming I’ve done since my debut.”
At the end of the episode, the top 6 matchups were revealed. Heo Sung-bum will face DinDin in a rematch, and Yuri Sa will go up against Gaeul. Most notably, a death match between Park Sung-woong and Hong Jin-ho has been teased.
