Last month, a post on an online community alleged that a different vintage of wine was served during a wine pairing service at Mosu Seoul. The author claimed that instead of the 2000 vintage they were promised, a wine from a different year was served, which quickly sparked a heated debate online.

In response to the growing controversy, Mosu Seoul posted an apology on social media. Chef Ahn Sung-jae also personally stepped forward, saying, “I am sorry for disappointing you with the inadequate service that occurred at the establishment.” He explained that the error happened because the bottles were mixed up and revealed that the sommelier involved has been removed from those duties.

However, some netizens questioned the sincerity of the apology after a new video was uploaded to Ahn Sung-jae’s YouTube channel on the same day the apology was posted. Following this, the channel announced a temporary hiatus to reorganize its overall content and operational direction.

Meanwhile, Ahn Sung-jae has gained massive popularity as a judge on the Netflix series Culinary Class Wars.
