Son Yeon-jae married a financier nine years her senior in 2022 and has one son. Even without a strict diet or special management, she continues to prove her class as a “gymnastics fairy” with her timeless elegance.
Meanwhile, Son Yeon-jae made history as the first Korean to win an individual all-around bronze medal at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, followed by a gold medal at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, and a historic 4th place finish at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the first for an Asian athlete. Since retiring, she has established a studio to discover and nurture the next generation of rhythmic gymnastics stars.
