
Musical ‘Beethoven’ is gearing up for its grand opening at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater, releasing a making-of film that captures the profile shoots of its lead actors.
On the 14th, production company EMK Musical Company posted the making-of video on their official channels for the musical ‘Beethoven’, which opens on June 9. The video heightens anticipation by detailing the profile and trailer filming process for the main cast.
In the released video, Park Hyo Shin and Hong Kwang Ho, who both play the lead role of ‘Ludwig van Beethoven’, exuded different types of charisma through conducting and piano performance concepts. Both actors dominated the atmosphere with their deep immersion in the characters, teasing the distinct charms of their respective Beethovens in the actual performance.
Yoon Gong Joo, Kim Ji Hyun, and Kim Ji Woo, playing Beethoven’s lover ‘Antonio Brentano’, captured the character’s complex inner emotions with delicate expressions under lyrical lighting.
Other key roles also showcased high-quality visuals, expressing the unique agony and purity of their characters, including Shin Sung Min and Kim Do Hyun as ‘Caspar van Beethoven’, Park Si Won and Choi Ho Jung as ‘Franz Brentano’, and Sung Min Jae and Yoo Yeon Jung as ‘Bettina Brentano’. The addition of supporting actors like Lee Sang Jun and Kang Sang Bum promises a harmonious synergy among the cast.
This season, the production returns as simply ‘Beethoven’, dropping its previous subtitle ‘Beethoven Secret’. Notably, the narrative and character relationships have been completely reorganized, and the musical quality has been further enhanced with new songs by world-renowned composer Sylvester Levey.
Musical ‘Beethoven’ will run from June 9 to August 11 at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater. The second round of ticket sales will open on the 19th at 11 AM via Sejong Culture Ticket, Melon Ticket, and NOL Ticket.
