Source Music vs. Min Hee-jin: Damages Lawsuit Hearing Postponed Just One Day Before!

The hearing for the damages lawsuit filed by Source Music against former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin has been postponed just one day before the scheduled date.

According to reports on the 14th, the hearing for the 500 million won damages lawsuit has been moved from May 15 to May 29. Source Music’s legal representative submitted a request for the change on the 4th, and the proceedings will resume on May 29 at 4:15 PM. Meanwhile, the hearing for Belift Lab, scheduled for one hour earlier, will proceed as planned.

Source Music filed the damages lawsuit against Min Hee-jin at the Seoul Western District Court in July 2024. The lawsuit was filed on the grounds that a series of claims made by Min Hee-jin regarding Source Music during her conflict with parent company HYBE were not true.

At the time, Min Hee-jin held a press conference claiming that HYBE broke its promise to debut NewJeans as the first girl group, that Source Music neglected the NewJeans members, and that HYBE was not proactive in promoting NewJeans.

Source Music expressed deep regret over the current situation, stating, “We express deep regret over the current situation where false content and rude expressions are used in public, and the real names of other artists are mentioned without respect. We strongly request that such incidents do not happen again.” They added, “The act of shaping public opinion by presenting false claims and untruths as facts, such as the claim that LE SSERAFIM caused harm to other artists, is a clear spread of false information.”
