Actor Kim Sung-soo’s love interest, Park So-yoon, has officially won over her potential mother-in-law!
In the May 14 episode of Channel A’s variety show ‘Groom’s Class 2’, Kim Sung-soo arranged a surprise meeting between his mother and Park So-yoon.
While Kim Sung-soo was on a date with his mother, Park So-yoon called. The mother, looking stylish in jeans and a scarf gifted by Park So-yoon, expressed her gratitude. Park So-yoon also thanked her, saying, “The curry and radish kimchi you gave me were delicious.” Since the mother had also received pork ribs from Park So-yoon’s mother, who runs a meat restaurant in Ulsan, the two shared a very warm and thankful exchange.
In the cozy atmosphere, Kim Sung-soo suddenly asked Park So-yoon, “What are you doing tonight? Do you want to come eat with us?” Though momentarily surprised, Park So-yoon asked, “If your mother is okay with it, may I come?” to which the mother enthusiastically replied, “You’re more than welcome!” Having previously hinted that she hopes for twins, the mother warmly welcomed this sudden “meet-the-parents” moment.
After enjoying a date at Pocheon Sanjeong Lake, where Kim Sung-soo and Park So-yoon had their very first date, they headed to a restaurant where Park So-yoon was already waiting. When Park So-yoon thanked them for letting her join their date, the mother replied, “I’m more grateful that you rushed over without hesitating,” creating a lovely vibe.
The mother was clearly very fond of Park So-yoon. Even when Kim Sung-soo playfully teased her by saying Park So-yoon can’t cook, the mother defended her, saying, “It doesn’t matter if she can’t. She passes regardless! There’s no need to worry about cooking; I don’t mind that at all.” She even pinched Kim Sung-soo’s thigh when he tactlessly mentioned that his first love was a kindergarten teacher. Then, she hit Park So-yoon with a direct question: “How far are you thinking of going with him?”
To save a blushing Park So-yoon, Kim Sung-soo turned the question back to his mother, asking, “Mom, how far are you thinking of this with So-yoon?” The mother opened up, saying, “I like her. She takes good care of herself, she’s pretty, and she’s kind, so I think she’s great.” She even “exposed” her son, revealing that he told her he thinks of Park So-yoon as soon as he wakes up, acting like a bulldozer to push the relationship forward.
During a private interview, Park So-yoon revealed her true feelings. “Actually, the more I meet him, the more I like him. I can feel that he’s a truly good person,” she confessed, adding, “I hope we can become a couple and eventually get married.” The MCs cheered for the fresh couple, who haven’t even kissed yet despite dating for six months.
