WOODZ’s self-composed track ‘Drowning’ is enjoying an incredible long-term run on major Korean music charts.
Part of the 5th mini album ‘OO-LI’ released in April 2023, ‘Drowning’ has spent 70 consecutive weeks in the Melon TOP100 TOP10, setting a new all-time record. This achievement surpasses the long-term success of NewJeans’ ‘Hype Boy’ and BTS’ ‘Dynamite’.
The song gained massive momentum through a “reverse run” in the second half of last year and continues to dominate top spots on major music platforms. It even topped the 2025 annual charts for Melon, Genie, and Circle Chart, and secured first place twice on SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’.
The hype extends to video content as well. The ‘WOODZ Drowning Live Clip’ released in 2023 has remained high on YouTube Korea’s popular music video charts for over 81 weeks. Additionally, his performance of ‘Drowning’ in military uniform for the KBS2 ‘Immortal Songs’ Armed Forces Day special has surpassed 30 million views.
‘Drowning’ was written and composed by WOODZ himself, and is characterized by its delicate yet intense portrayal of emotions following a breakup. While fans praised the song’s high quality from the start, it has now captured the hearts of the general public.
Meanwhile, WOODZ has been active since releasing his first full-length album ‘Archive. 1’ this past March.
