The SBS program ‘Curious Stories Y’, airing on the 15th, will delve into the murder case of a high school girl in Gwangju.

A peaceful area near a university in Gwangju Metropolitan City turned into a scene of horrific tragedy. On Children’s Day, May 5th, a high school student named Taerin (pseudonym) was stabbed to death on the street.

The perpetrator, 23-year-old Jang Yoon-gi, was arrested 11 hours after the crime. On that day, Taerin had studied late into the night and parted ways with a friend after eating bingsu. Shortly after, she was attacked by Jang, a complete stranger.

“I never imagined he was the kind of person who could do something like this. Even when the name ‘Jang’ was mentioned, I couldn’t even place who it was,” shared a former classmate of the suspect.

Jang claims that he committed the crime impulsively to “take someone with him” while contemplating suicide. But was it truly a spontaneous act?

“It must have been so painful. I miss my daughter so much,” the bereaved family shared.

It has been revealed that Jang stalked a woman he worked with for the past year. There are even indications that he sexually assaulted her two days before the murder. That night, Jang’s twisted anger was directed toward the innocent Taerin. Taerin, who dreamed of becoming an emergency medical technician to save lives, loved spending time with her friends. Why did this 18-year-old girl with so many dreams have to lose her life on a cold street?

Today’s broadcast will reveal the cruel reality that Jang has been hiding.
