Their first VR concert, “LE SSERAFIM VR Concert: Invitation,” is enjoying long-term success thanks to a surge in repeat viewings.
“Invitation” initially drew attention due to the curiosity surrounding the new VR format, and it is now maintaining its popularity as FEARNOTs lead a trend of watching it multiple times.
The key to these repeat visits is the ultra-close, experiential production, which differs from traditional concert films. The 12K ultra-high-definition visuals vividly capture the members’ subtle facial expressions and choreography details, leaving audiences highly satisfied.
Rave reviews are pouring in on social media and Lotte Cinema, with fans saying things like, “It was a whole new world, almost like I crashed the stage,” “I think this is the most polished VR concert video,” and “You must watch it at least three times.”
A behind-the-scenes filming video released on the 14th has further fueled the repeat-viewing craze.
The video shows LE SSERAFIM carefully adjusting their movements and positions in front of ultra-wide-angle cameras. Huh Yunjin shared the unique nature of the VR concert, saying, “It was amazing that I could make eye contact with the camera even when I was at the very end, so I paid more attention to my expressions.”
Sakura mentioned the attention to detail for the 12K quality, noting that they “changed the lenses,” while Kazuha added, “I think LE SSERAFIM is all about performance, and through VR, you can feel the performance more vividly in every corner.”
Thanks to this enthusiastic response, “Invitation” has expanded its reach from Lotte Cinema World Tower to Lotte Cinema Busan Main Branch. The Busan branch held its first weekend screenings from the 8th to the 10th and is continuing the excitement with a second weekend of screenings from today (the 15th) to the 17th.
“LE SSERAFIM VR Concert: Invitation” is an experiential VR concert that takes viewers on a journey where reality and fantasy intersect via a mysterious “Frame Card,” starting with a moment where they encounter the members in an elevator.
The experience offers a unique viewing experience by combining LE SSERAFIM’s performances with sensory spatial production, such as a food truck with flying ingredients and a red planet with a giant beating heart.
Meanwhile, “LE SSERAFIM VR Concert: Invitation” will be screened at Lotte Cinema World Tower until the 26th, and Lotte Cinema Busan Main Branch will continue its weekend screenings from today (the 15th) to the 17th.
