“I’ll Let Go of My Life as an Actor” Jang Dong-ju Suddenly Announces Retirement, Leaving Agency Bewildered

Actor Jang Dong-ju has announced his retirement, and it appears his agency was completely caught off guard.

According to Star News on the 15th, Management W stated that there was “no separate consultation” regarding Jang Dong-ju’s retirement announcement. They added that they are currently unable to reach the actor.

Earlier this morning, Jang Dong-ju took to social media to suddenly announce his retirement, writing, “As of today, I intend to let go of my life as actor Jang Dong-ju.”

He further shared, “Every moment in front of the camera was the most shining time of my life,” before clearing his social media posts.

Previously, in November last year, Jang Dong-ju caused a stir when he disappeared after leaving a cryptic message on social media. Later, in January this year, he shared the heartbreaking news that he suffered significant financial losses due to his social media account being hacked.

Despite these struggles, Jang Dong-ju signed with a new agency in February and vowed to make a comeback. Until last month, he had been teasing a busy schedule by sharing news of movie appearances and event photos, making this sudden retirement announcement even more shocking.

Jang Dong-ju has appeared in numerous works, including ‘Mr. Fixed-term’, ‘I’ll Be Your Night’, ‘Trigger’, ‘Honest Candidate’, ‘Count’, and ‘Handsome Guys’. Most recently, he worked alongside actors Kim Hye-yoon and Lomon in ‘I am Human from Today’.
