On May 15 at 1 PM, wave to earth released their new single ‘heaven and hell’ across various online music platforms.
‘heaven and hell’ is their first new release in about a year and eight months since ‘play with earth! 0.03’ in September 2024.
Moving beyond their signature lo-fi jazz sound, the track embraces an acoustic minimalism style. It resonates with listeners by delivering a message that the world cannot be divided into a simple dichotomy.
The accompanying music video is also turning heads with its unique aesthetic. Filmed entirely on location in Mexico, it depicts the growth story of a boy who holds onto his dreams despite challenging circumstances.
The addition of Zapateadores, a traditional Mexican dance, completes the cinematic atmosphere of the piece.
The video was directed by Maureen Hufnagel, who won the ‘Argentine Director of the Year’ award at the ‘El Ojo de Iberoamérica International Festival’ last year.
This project is particularly meaningful as it marks the first time Maureen Hufnagel has collaborated with a Korean artist.
