Cha Hak-yeon’s character in ‘Absolute Value of Romance’ ended up getting beaten up while trying to protect Yoon Hye-rim.
In the 11th episode of Coupang Play’s ‘Absolute Value of Romance’ (directed by Lee Tae-gon and Kim Jun-hyung) released on the 15th, we saw Ga Woo-soo (Cha Hak-yeon) stepping up to protect his student.
With rumors of Ga Woo-soo heading to the US, Yeo Ui-ju (Kim Hyang-gi) asked when he was leaving and for how long, but Ga Woo-soo simply told her, “It’s late. Go inside.” Feeling distressed, Yeo Ui-ju found herself unable to write. She even wondered if a woman named ‘Nadeuli’ (Jung Da-on), mentioned by Ga Woo-soo and Yoon Dong-ju, was his girlfriend, and felt deeply disappointed that he hadn’t told her about his US plans in advance.
The next day, worries grew as Choi Ji-ah (Yoon Hye-rim) was absent from school again. Yeo Ui-ju and Ga Woo-soo decided to split up to find her after hearing she was working part-time at a rib restaurant. Yeo Ui-ju eventually spotted Choi Ji-ah serving drinks. While they were talking outside, thugs demanding debt appeared, putting her in danger. However, Ga Woo-soo stepped in, declaring, “I’m these students’ homeroom teacher,” and settled the situation by paying off Choi Ji-ah’s debt.
Ga Woo-soo touched Choi Ji-ah’s heart when she promised to pay him back, telling her, “When you grow up, please help other children who need help.” Thanks to his support, Choi Ji-ah was able to return to the shelter, and Yeo Ui-ju was moved by Ga Woo-soo’s warm side. Ga Woo-soo also praised Yeo Ui-ju, calling her “admirable.” When asked about the US trip again, he replied, “Right now, teaching, caring for, and watching over you all at school is my number one priority.”
Peace returned to the school as Jenny (Gladys Bae) returned from Seoul and Choi Ji-ah began attending classes. However, Jenny spotted Choi Ji-ah being dragged away by thugs, and Yeo Ui-ju immediately informed Ga Woo-soo. Ga Woo-soo rushed to find the thugs, but while trying to protect Choi Ji-ah against their threats for more money, he was severely beaten and lost consciousness. Just then, Yeo Ui-ju appeared alongside No Da-ju, Jung Gi-jeon, and Yoon Dong-ju, bringing the tension to a peak.
