On the May 15 episode of KBS 2TV’s music talk show “The Seasons-Sung Si-kyung’s Ear Boyfriend,” Lee Chae-yeon made an appearance, and her mother caught everyone’s attention by joining her in the audience.
During the show, Sung Si-kyung asked, “I heard this is your first late-night music show since debuting. Did you get all your talent from your mother?” Lee Chae-yeon sparked laughter with her honest reply, “My mom actually auditioned to be a singer. But from what I heard at home, she wasn’t quite at a debut level.”
Lee Chae-yeon’s mother introduced herself as “the mother of solo singer and comedian Lee Chae-yeon.” When asked if it was her first time at KBS, she shyly mentioned, “I once visited as a guest for a housewife dance class.”

The mother also confessed her fan heart for Sung Si-kyung. “To be honest, Sung Si-kyung debuted in 2000, which is the year Chae-yeon was born. Most of my playlist consists of Sung Si-kyung’s songs. Even now, I have them, but I don’t have any songs by ITZY or Chae-yeon,” she revealed.
She then threw a “straight ball” by saying, “I love it most when Sung Si-kyung sings, but I hate ‘Meok-eul-ten-de’!” Sung Si-kyung jokingly responded, “Many of my fans feel the same. They tell me to stop eating.”
She added, “As I felt again today, Sung Si-kyung is coolest when he’s singing on stage.”

Meanwhile, Lee Chae-yeon shared that she first dreamed of becoming a singer after watching Girls’ Generation’s “Kissing You.” She explained, “Three years later, my mom enrolled me in a local dance academy. That’s when I seriously started pursuing my dream. I tried art and piano, but I was happiest when dancing and singing. Once I realized that, I said I wanted to be a singer.”
Now in her fifth year as a solo artist, Lee Chae-yeon showed her pride in her dancing skills, saying, “I always took first place in dance during the monthly evaluations.”
