Singer and actress IU has celebrated her 33rd birthday by donating a total of 300 million won, as announced by her agency EDAM Entertainment on the 16th.
This donation was made under the name “IUaena,” a combination of IU and her official fan club, UAENA. The funds were distributed with 100 million won going to Asan Medical Center, and 50 million won each to Children Walking Together, Milk Delivery Checking on Seniors, the Korea Unmarried Mothers Family Association, and Warm Companion.
Her agency shared that the donation will be used to provide practical help for various groups, including supporting patients facing financial difficulties, providing education and cultural support for children and youth, caring for seniors living alone, supporting unmarried mothers in vulnerable situations, and providing advanced assistive devices for people with disabilities.
IU has a long history of consistent giving on her debut anniversary, birthday, and during the year-end and New Year seasons. Most recently, on Children’s Day, she donated 100 million won, giving 50 million won each to the Korea Child Welfare Association and the National Association of Regional Children’s Centers.
