Entertainer Kim Sook has finally shown off her completed home in Jeju Island.
On the 16th, Kim Sook shared on her Instagram, “Thanks to everyone’s concern, a very beautiful cultural asset (?) level house has been completed.” She added, “CEO Song Eun-i, Lee Chun-hee, Baek Ga, Jang Woo-young, and our members are the best for making time in their busy schedules to rush over here.”
She continued, “The PD and writer teams of ‘Unpredictable’ worked so hard.” She expressed her gratitude, saying, “Running a program for a whole year is nearly impossible in today’s broadcasting industry, but I’m so thankful that everyone stayed joyful and joined me through every moment. I also want to thank everyone who helped build the house.”
She also asked for suggestions, saying, “What should I do moving forward? I’d love to hear your expert opinions on how to operate the place, as there are more days than the members can even use.” She tagged it as “Jeju Thatched House Unpredictable.”
The photos she shared reveal the finished look of the Jeju house. The clean organization and the blend of traditional and modern styles are truly eye-catching.
Kim Sook carried out this Jeju abandoned house remodeling project through the tvN variety show ‘Unpredictable’, which ended on the 15th.
The house was originally purchased in 2012, during her days as an unknown artist, under joint ownership with her close friend Song Eun-i. Since then, the shares were settled, and it is now solely owned by Kim Sook. To remodel the house, she had to obtain permission for change of current state from the National Heritage Administration. Due to strict regulations, such as maintaining the original Jeju basalt stone walls and thatched roof, a significant amount of time and money was invested. However, as the construction was nearly finished, the regulations were relaxed, leading Kim Sook to express her frustration, saying she was “so shocked.”
