Im Chang-jung has celebrated 35 years of versatile activity, seamlessly crossing the lines between acting and singing.
The original all-rounder, Im Chang-jung, celebrated his 35th anniversary as an actor on SNS on the 15th. Sharing a celebratory video, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for staying by my side for 35 years.”
He added his signature wit, wondering, “How have I run for 35 years already?” and joked, “I’ll see you again at the 70th anniversary, exactly double the time!” He especially delighted fans by performing a short 70th-anniversary version of his hit song “Soju One Glass” to wrap things up with a laugh.
Having debuted in the 1990 film ‘Southern Army’, Im Chang-jung has been loved for his realistic and sly comic acting in various works such as ‘Beat’, ‘Sex is Zero’, ‘Pasongsong Gyerantak’, ‘Sicily 2km’, ‘Miracle on 1st Street’, and ‘Scout’. His characters, infused with a unique human touch, have established his own color and earned him the title of a “trustworthy actor.”
Continuing to release new songs and hold performances, Im Chang-jung has proven his presence as a multi-entertainer by appearing in dramatized music videos for his hits like ‘Sad Monologue’, ‘Soju One Glass’, and ‘My Lover’. His life-like acting, which expresses the emotional lines of a song through his body rather than just singing, is considered another strength that completes his musical world and increases immersion.
