Broadcaster Lee Geum-hee is coming clean about being a “huge fan” of BTS!
On the May 17 episode of TV Chosun’s “Huh Young-man’s Food Travel” airing at 7:50 PM, we’ll join the legendary voice of 37 years, Lee Geum-hee, for a spring outing to Goyang, Gyeonggi-do. Goyang holds a special meaning for her, as it is where she visited to see a BTS concert. She officially confesses that she is a “real ARMY.”
Lee Geum-hee, who was loved by viewers for a long time through her narration on “Human Theater,” reveals the decisive reason why she stepped down from the show. When the scheduling of “Human Theater” (which was hitting high ratings at the time) changed to be right before “AM Plaza,” which she also hosted, she decided to leave, stating, “I felt it wouldn’t be polite for viewers to hear my voice consecutively.” However, she shares a “funny yet sad” episode where she secretly hoped the production team would beg her to stay, but instead, they immediately asked about her successor, leaving her flustered.
Living up to her status as an announcer legend, Lee Geum-hee easily passed a high-difficulty pronunciation test and even spotted a hidden typo in a sentence that read “March 33rd,” proving her veteran class. But even the perfect Lee Geum-hee has a twist in her past. She reveals a “dark history” from her first final announcer exam: because of a salon owner who knew nothing about makeup, she showed up to the interview with blue eyelids and red lips, leading to a lightning-fast failure.
“I can’t eat three meals a day,” she shyly confessed, but where did that Lee Geum-hee go? Despite her words, she goes on a full-blown eating spree, never stopping her chopsticks. From buckwheat noodles to Sokcho-style steamed fish and straw-fire pork belly, she gets intoxicated by the taste of spring and even turns the restaurant into a concert hall by singing Lee Sun-hee’s hit song “Meet You Among Them” on the spot.
The journey through Goyang with the one-and-only voice of 37-year pro broadcaster Lee Geum-hee will be revealed on the Goyang episode of TV Chosun’s “Huh Young-man’s Food Travel” on the 17th at 7:50 PM.
