Choi Jun-hee, the daughter of the late Choi Jin-sil, has put an end to numerous rumors of family conflict by inviting her maternal grandmother to her wedding, telling critics to “stop the speculation.”
On the 16th, Choi Jun-hee tied the knot with a non-celebrity man 11 years her senior at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. She later shared photos and videos of the ceremony on her social media, including a sweet shot with her brother, Choi Hwan-hee, and her maternal grandmother.
Unconfirmed rumors had been circulating that Choi Jun-hee did not invite her grandmother. However, it turns out that the grandmother (Choi Jin-sil’s mother) attended the wedding in a beautiful hanbok, sitting in the family section with Choi Hwan-hee and staying until the very end. She even took a lovely photo with the bride! Choi Jun-hee clarified, “Of course my grandmother came yesterday. It’s a happy day and things are hectic, so please stop the speculation.”
During the ceremony, a video from the wedding of Choi Jin-sil and Jo Sung-min from 26 years ago was played, leaving the grandmother in tears. Choi Hwan-hee showed his mature side by comforting her. It is reported that the entire room was moved to tears by the video.
After the wedding, Choi Jun-hee posted on the 17th, “I’m greeting you all along with the wedding video. Thank you so much for taking the time to attend and for your warm congratulations and heart. During the long time preparing for the wedding, I had so many emotions, but seeing everyone’s faces on the day made me realize how much love I’ve received, which made me quite emotional (I ended up marching in a total tear-fest). Previously, in July 2023, Choi Jun-hee had reported her maternal grandmother for trespassing. At the time, she shared CCTV footage and videos, claiming she called the police and her boyfriend because she couldn’t handle her grandmother’s verbal abuse.
This led to controversy regarding her behavior, but the situation was settled after she submitted a petition to the police requesting that no punishment be imposed. She later apologized on a YouTube channel, saying she felt sorry for her actions.
Since she lost both parents, her older brother Choi Hwan-hee walked her down the aisle. Jo Se-ho served as the MC, and Choi Jin-sil’s close friends, including Hong Jin-kyung, Lee Young-ja, Lee So-ra, Uhm Jung-hwa, and Jung Sun-hee, sat together to offer their heartfelt congratulations and support in place of the late actress.
