Singer Lee Sun-hee has opened up about the reasons behind her bold new hairstyle and her recent challenge as a DJ.
On the 17th, the second part of her appearance on the YouTube channel ‘My Geum-hee’ was released, featuring the singer promoting her new song “이제야 사랑이 보이네”.
During the episode, Lee Sun-hee shared her unique way of managing emotions: “When I feel overwhelmed, I walk. I go on solo trips or suddenly take out all my clothes to organize them.” She added, “After repeating those actions, a sense of calm settles in, and that’s when melodies come to me,” revealing her distinct creative routine.
She also candidly discussed her recent passion for DJing. “I’ve always loved metal and hard rock, but lately, I’ve been hooked on the repetitive beats of EDM and the bass house genre,” she explained. “DJing isn’t just about playing music; it’s a creative process of matching and transforming sounds.”
“I’ve been making music for 40 years, but as a DJ, I’m a rookie,” she said. “Rather than fear, I had a stronger desire to meet new musicians.” She shared a bright smile, adding, “I just wanted to enjoy it and then have fun on stage. That feeling was so exciting.”
She also shared the behind-the-scenes story of her viral, bold hairstyle. Laughing, Lee Sun-hee revealed, “I got a perm to make blow-drying easier, but this is the result I got.” She admitted, “I just thought, let’s live like this.” To this, Lee Geum-hee responded, “I love seeing a side of Lee Sun-hee that’s different from the one we knew.”
Furthermore, Lee Sun-hee expressed her wish to become a “cute grandmother.” She confessed, “I’m actually full of aegyo, but I lived my life restraining it because I was worried others might find it strange. Now, I feel like I should start showing it little by little.”
Meanwhile, Lee Sun-hee released her new album ‘이제야 사랑이 보이네’ across various online music sites last month. The title track “이제야 사랑이 보이네” garnered attention even before its release as it reunited her with composer Park Geun-tae, who worked on her past hit ‘그중에 그대를 만나’. The album’s musical quality is further enhanced by self-composed songs reflecting her own life experiences.
