Actress Gong Hyo-jin recently opened up about the time she experienced rapid weight loss following a past car accident.

On the 19th, a video titled “ENFP Gong Hyo-jin’s Stream of Consciousness” was uploaded to her channel ‘For the Time Being, Gong Hyo-jin’. In the video, Gong Hyo-jin honestly discussed her weight changes and health. She started by saying, “Everyone has a target weight, right? For me, it’s 50 to 51kg.” She further explained her usual condition, noting, “I’m 51kg in the morning and 52kg at night. There is a difference of 600 to 800g when I wake up at night.”

Recalling the filming of the SBS drama ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’, she mentioned, “I heard people are watching that work a lot again lately. I was 53kg when filming started.” She shared her feelings from that time, saying, “I had a car accident back then, and I had a total mental breakdown. It was because I felt devastated that I had to finish more than half of the drama while not being in a complete state.”

She also revealed that she couldn’t eat properly due to the stress following the accident. “Because of the stress, I couldn’t swallow food and lost a lot of weight,” she explained. “There were times in the drama where I looked completely thin. My weight fluctuated by about 10kg.” She shared that by the end of the drama, her weight had dropped to 44 or 46kg. While she laughed and said, “I didn’t think I’d ever see that weight in my life again,” and mentioned that people joked she was “walking on her arms,” her actual physical condition was quite difficult. She confessed, “It was hard even to sit. I could feel my bones when I sat down,” leaving fans feeling sympathetic.
Previously, it was reported that Gong Hyo-jin was involved in a car accident while returning home after finishing the filming of the 2014 SBS drama ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’. She reportedly balanced her treatment and filming while suffering from a fractured left arm.
