DAY6 member Wonpil promised unchanging love with his fans during a romantic solo concert.

Wonpil held his solo concert, “WONPIL SOLO CONCERT ‘Unpiltered’,” for three days from May 1 to May 3 at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Songpa-gu, Seoul. This concert marks his first solo show in about 4 years and 2 months since his first solo concert ‘Pilmography’ in March 2022, and all shows were completely sold out. On the final day, May 3, the performance was streamed live via the Beyond LIVE platform, allowing even more My Day (fandom name) to join the celebration.

Sweet piano melodies and a warm voice

As a member of DAY6 and the unit DAY6 (Even of Day), as well as a solo artist, Wonpil has always shared his rich sensitivity and gentle voice. He carefully presented a musical filmography that reflected his unique colors. Accompanied by a band session, he performed ‘Toxic Love’, ‘I Became an Adult’, ‘Piece of Paper’, ‘Erase’, and ‘If I Draw’ with his signature sorrowful yet cozy tone. He also brought fluttering emotions to the crowd with soft vocals in ‘Shall We Walk More’, ‘Spring Will Come Someday’, ‘Landed’, and ‘Home Alone’. His sweet voice shone in ‘Wedding Song’ and ‘Love, This Must Be It’, where he added cute dance moves that filled the venue with happiness.

The crowd was especially captivated when Wonpil appeared on the piano for his performance, with the audience seats sparkling with lights. The fantastic production, making it feel as if he were swimming among the stars, combined with his singing and sweet piano melodies, created an unforgettable and breathtaking scene. He then left a unique lingering impression by filling the air with his voice and piano for DAY6 hits ‘Like a Passing Wind’ and ‘You Were Beautiful’, and moved the hearts of listeners with the lyrical ‘Late End’ and ‘Goodbye’.

Not a million roses, but romance and sincerity given with all his heart

Wonpil increased the immersion of the show with his delicate approach to connecting with every single audience member. During the performance of ‘Not a Million Roses’, as red flower petal confetti fluttered down, he produced a romantic atmosphere by showing a Lisianthus, a flower that symbolizes unchanging love. Throughout the sequence of ‘Loner on a Remote Island’, ‘Becoming a Writer in a Novel’, and ‘Wish’, he maintained eye contact and communicated deeply with the fans, showing his sincere heart.

To ensure his voice and sincerity could reach more people, JYP Entertainment created a barrier-free environment for audience members with hearing impairments. In collaboration with the non-profit organization Hearcycle, they introduced an audio assistance system (Auracast) that transmits audio to receivers regardless of spatial limitations. This is the first time a Korean entertainment company has implemented such a system, and it is expected to lead practical changes in concert accessibility while enhancing the sincerity of sustainable management.

Wonpil’s musical story continues as a ‘writer in a novel’

Following the captivating and intense charm of ‘Love Ward’ and ‘Up All Night’, he brought the energy to a peak with ‘Wish Me Luck’, creating a harmony with the audience. Toward the end of the show, Wonpil moved across the stage with a bright smile, greeting fans warmly and showing his deep affection by trying to take in every face in the crowd until the very last moment. The audience responded with loving cheers, and the venue swelled with warmth and overwhelming emotion.

After closing the show with ‘Step by Step’, Wonpil shared his thoughts: “Thank you so much for being a great strength to me today. It is meaningful and happy to hold my second solo concert at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium, a place filled with many memories. I am grateful to My Day, who helped me the most so that I could grow. From the solo album to this concert, I think this will be an unforgettable moment in my life. I am happy to share this moment with you, and thank you for appearing in my life. I will continue to repay you with good music and a good image.” His words left fans excited for the new musical stories he will write.

After successfully wrapping up his solo concert amidst the passionate cheers of fans, Wonpil will continue his global journey as part of the DAY6 10th anniversary tour, ‘DAY6 10th Anniversary Tour < The DECADE >‘. He is scheduled to continue the tour heat in Macau on May 9, Busan on May 16 and 17, and Kobe on June 20 and 21.
