Entertainer Yoo Jae Suk is making waves after the street view photos he personally took were actually reflected in a real map service.

In the May 23 episode of MBC’s ‘Hangout with Yoo’, Yoo Jae Suk and Heo Kyung Hwan set out to create street views of Seoul’s alleys to celebrate King Sejong’s birthday. The duo walked through the Jipokjae area of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jangsu Village in Naksan Park, carrying equipment weighing about 9kg for the N-company map app’s street view filming.

The process was far from easy. According to the show, Yoo Jae Suk expressed his struggle, saying, “I’m already sick of this. My face is so hot and it’s exhausting,” and added, “I used to look at street views comfortably, but the people who actually do this work really suffer.” He was seen sweating profusely, noting that the weight of the gear and direct sunlight made it even harder. Despite this, he stayed focused, saying, “I think I’ll feel proud when people see this street view later.”

Following the broadcast, Yoo Jae Suk and Heo Kyung Hwan’s appearances in the actual N-company map app’s road view service have become a hot topic online. Currently, if you search for the Jipokjae road view, you can spot the two of them moving around while wearing the filming equipment.

In the photos revealed on the road view, Yoo Jae Suk is seen filming the interior of a hanok with the large equipment on his back. In another scene, he was captured crouching on the fortress wall path of Naksan Park to check his gear.

Immediately after the broadcast, viewers reacted with comments such as, “I was so surprised to actually see Yoo Jae Suk on the road view,” “Now if you search Jipokjae, Yoo Jae Suk appears,” “I didn’t know taking a single road view photo was this hard,” and “The Nation’s MC is personally recording the streets.”
