32-Year-Old Man Repeatedly Makes and Loses 100 Million Won in Crypto: Seo Jang-hoon Gives a Reality Check on 'Ask Anything'

In the 366th episode of KBS Joy’s ‘Ask Anything,’ airing May 25 at 8 PM, a guest appears who has repeatedly made a fortune through crypto investment only to lose everything.

The guest confessed, “I’ve lived only for crypto for six years,” adding, “Now I want to let go of this life and return to the time when I had dreams.”

Having majored in vocal music since childhood, he enlisted in the military after failing his college entrance exams. He invested 12 million won saved during his service into stocks after discharge but lost it all, which led him to dive into crypto out of sheer stubbornness.

After investing 600,000 won earned from a convenience store part-time job, he grew his funds to 100 million won in just one year. He bought gifts for his parents and threw parties with his family, but he lost every penny during a market crash while chasing even greater success.

He later saved 50 million won by working at restaurants, meat shops, and his parents’ store, but lost his entire fortune once again through leverage trading. This prompted Lee Soo-geun to joke, “That market isn’t open, only the Yangpyeong 5-day market is open,” bringing laughter to the set.

Despite the repeated failures, music was what kept him going. The guest revealed that he continued his dream of vocal music through church choirs, event stages, and busking, and performed the song ‘I Bloom as One Flower.’

After listening to the song, Seo Jang-hoon advised, “If you want to do music seriously, you must receive a professional evaluation and devote yourself to it with everything you’ve got.” He added, “You must also accept the reality that you may not have a stable income until you succeed.”
