Actor Kim Hyung-mook is facing a divorce crisis!
In the KBS 2TV weekend drama ‘Love Prescription’ aired on May 23 and 24, Kim Hyung-mook delivered a realistic emotional performance as Director Yang Dong-ik of Yangjibareun Oriental Clinic.
Yang Dong-ik was hit with a wave of shock and betrayal after discovering his wife Cha Se-ri’s (played by So Yi-hyun) past. Suspecting her of having an affair after seeing her communicate with a mysterious man, he decided to tail her. During this process, he discovered that Cha Se-ri had a daughter from before their marriage who is currently living in his own home. This led him to mistakenly believe that Cha Se-ri married him with ulterior motives.
Yang Dong-ik later called his son, Yang Hyun-bin (played by Park Ki-woong), to vent his complicated feelings. He expressed his confusion, saying, “She doesn’t love me. She married me to change her life and target my wealth.” However, after receiving some realistic advice from Yang Hyun-bin, he slowly regained his composure and couldn’t deny that he still loved Cha Se-ri.
Yang Dong-ik showed a side of himself trying to understand Cha Se-ri after she opened up about her past to the family. He brought a touch of emotion to the scene, showing his unchanging love by saying, “I know it must have been hard to talk about because our family has trauma regarding women who abandon their children,” and “I would have married you even if I had known.”
But the peace didn’t last long! Yang Dong-ik hit a crisis when his secret investigation into Cha Se-ri was exposed. Cha Se-ri was devastated after finding a folder of documents about herself in the room. While Yang Dong-ik tried to explain, “I thought you were cheating,” Cha Se-ri expressed her disappointment that he went to a private investigator instead of just asking her. Yang Dong-ik was left flustered as Cha Se-ri seemed ready to end things, stating, “I think it’s right for me to leave with nothing.”
