BOYFRIEND Makes Full-Group Comeback for 15th Anniversary with ‘Boyager 6’!

BOYFRIEND is finally back as a full group to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary!

Their sixth mini album, ‘Boyager 6’, drops today (26th) at 6 PM across all music platforms. Simultaneously, the music video for the title track, ‘Our Voices That Decorated the Night Sky’, will be released on BOYFRIEND’s official YouTube channel.

The album title ‘Boyager’ is a blend of ‘Boy’ and ‘Voyager’, symbolizing the journey of six members who, after spending time apart, have reunited to chase a new dream. Member Jungmin took a lead role in producing the album and writing lyrics for four tracks. All members were deeply involved in everything from the planning stages and recording direction to the choreography, adding a layer of sincerity to this 15th-anniversary project.

The album features a total of six tracks, including the title song ‘Our Voices That Decorated the Night Sky’, along with ‘Deja vu’, ‘Footprints’, ‘Today Too’, ‘Time Limit’, and instrumental versions.

Fans are buzzing with anticipation to see what new stories the six members will write now that they are one again. Global interest is peaking as BOYFRIEND restarts their journey for their 15th anniversary.

Plus, BOYFRIEND will host a ‘Supse-kwon Live’ on YouTube today (26th) at 7 PM to share their 15th-anniversary thoughts, introduce the new song, and reveal behind-the-scenes stories from the album’s production.

Here is a Q&A with BOYFRIEND, who returns with ‘Boyager 6’ after nine years and celebrates 15 years since debut.

Q. You’re making a full-group comeback after about five years for your 15th anniversary. How does it feel?

Donghyun: I’m so grateful to celebrate BOYFRIEND’s 15th anniversary with the members, as this group has been a part of most of my life. Since it’s been a while, I’m incredibly excited and can’t wait to show the fans what we’ve been preparing for so long.

Minwoo: I’m really looking forward to promoting with the members again; it still doesn’t feel real. I want to thank everyone who worked hard and supported us to make this happen, and most of all, I’ll do my best to show a great side of ourselves to the fans who have waited so long.

Q. A lot must have changed over 15 years. Looking back, what is the biggest difference between then and now?

Hyunsung: In the past, it felt like Donghyun hyung led the team strongly as the leader. Now, it feels like all the members share the weight of the name BOYFRIEND and grow together. As we’ve each gained more experience, we’ve become stronger and a team that truly trusts and relies on one another.

Youngmin: I think I felt more nervousness and pressure before. After 15 years, I’ve found the composure to enjoy and embrace the stage more, and I feel my mindset toward performing has matured significantly.

Q. You’ve released ‘Boyager 6’ after about nine years. Could you introduce this sixth mini album?

Jungmin: This album contains lyrics and melodies written with the fans who remembered and waited for us in mind. Just like the title ‘Boyager 6’, we hope our voices, reunited after our individual journeys, reach many people. We hope you’ll join us on BOYFRIEND’s new journey through this album.

Q. We heard Jungmin participated in producing and writing four songs, and other members were involved in everything from planning to choreography. What was the main focus during production?

Jungmin: The most important thing was not to disappoint the expectations of those who have remembered and supported us for so long. We tried to naturally capture the stories we can tell now, while maintaining the unique sensibility and atmosphere that people remember about BOYFRIEND.

Donghyun: While preparing, we agonized over whether to stick with BOYFRIEND’s existing vibe or show a completely new side. After many discussions, we decided to capture the emotions and nostalgia fans feel when they think of BOYFRIEND. We focused on creating a natural bridge between that familiar sensibility and the current BOYFRIEND.

Q. We heard there are special points in the choreography for ‘Our Voices That Decorated the Night Sky’. What are the secrets?

Youngmin: The choreography includes point moves from our debut song ‘Boyfriend’ and our last promotional song ‘Star’. We wanted to naturally blend the time BOYFRIEND has spent from debut until now, so we believe this stage captures both our past and present.

Kwangmin: We included the chorus choreography from ‘Boyfriend’ and the point dance from ‘Star’. It signifies that we will never forget the time BOYFRIEND and Bestfriend walked together, and we hope it serves as a small gift for the fans who stayed with us.

Q. What reactions do you hope for or goals do you want to achieve with ‘Boyager 6’? Also, what side of BOYFRIEND do you want to show in the future?

Kwangmin: Through this activity, I hope BOYFRIEND and Bestfriend can stay together for an even longer time. We plan to keep BOYFRIEND’s inherent charm while continuing to show new sides we haven’t revealed yet, so please look forward to it.

Minwoo: I want to hear reactions like, ‘BOYFRIEND is still going strong!’ My goal is to use this 15th anniversary as a chance to meet the fans who waited for us more often and create more time together.

Q. What do you think is the driving force that has kept BOYFRIEND together for so long?

Donghyun: As the eldest and leader, I’m most proud that all the members stayed well without any major issues, not only during our active years but also during our individual time. I think the members’ desire to cherish and protect the team, and above all, the unchanging love of the fans, were the biggest driving forces.

Hyunsung: I definitely think it’s the members. We are very considerate and understanding of each other, and we still joke around and laugh constantly when we’re together. Because we understand each other so well, a natural positive energy is created, which gives us the strength to stay together. I believe we’ve made it this far by being each other’s driving force for the past 15 years.

Q. Please leave a word for Bestfriend, whom you’ve reunited with after a long wait.

Donghyun: 15 years have already passed. I promised the fans I would stay as BOYFRIEND for as long as I could, and I’m so happy and grateful to be able to keep that promise again. The six of us will work hard to create better images and more memories during this activity and in the future, so please keep watching over us. I’m always sorry, thankful, and I love you.

Hyunsung: I’m so happy to be able to properly show ourselves again. I believe this reunion was only possible because Bestfriend was there. Please continue to stay with us for a long time.

Jungmin: Even if the waves wash away the footprints we left behind, we will come back to leave new footprints again.

Youngmin: One of the things I hear most these days is, “I was a fan when I was a student.” Whenever I hear that, it occurs to me that you all have also gone through so much over the last 15 years. I want to tell you that you’ve worked hard during your own journeys. Now, I will be by your side not as the BOYFRIEND of the past, but as the BOYFRIEND of the present and future.

Kwangmin: A dream-like time has come again. Honestly, there were times I didn’t think a moment like this would return. But thanks to Bestfriend waiting for us, the six of us can move forward looking in the same direction again. Please stay with us in the time to come, following the dream-like time we’ve had.
