Lee Jae-wook and Shin Ye-eun are gearing up for a chaotic survival story in a remote island village!

ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Doctor Island Boy (Directed by Lee Myung-woo, Written by Kim Ji-soo) released exciting still cuts on May 27.

Doctor Island Boy is a medical human romance following Do Ji-ui, a public health doctor who arrives at the notorious island Pyundong-do, a place everyone tries to avoid, and Yuk Ha-ri, a nurse shrouded in secrets.

The released photos capture the meeting between Do Ji-ui (Lee Jae-wook) and Yuk Ha-ri (Shin Ye-eun), who plays a part in his nightmare-like island assignment. For Do Ji-ui, who suffers from trauma related to the sea and islands, being on a boat is like being in hell. His exhaustion is evident as he tightly closes his eyes to suppress the overwhelming fear and nausea. Breaking his forced composure is Yuk Ha-ri. The urgent expression on Do Ji-ui’s face as he tries to stop Yuk Ha-ri, who is precariously perched on a railing with a sad expression, hints at an unusual incident. In subsequent photos, Do Ji-ui is seen waking up in a hospital, sparking curiosity about what happened to him after his nightmare arrival on Pyundong-do.

This strange encounter with Yuk Ha-ri is only the beginning. The two were also spotted conducting home visits as the public health doctor and nurse of the Pyundong health center. However, their expressions while looking at a patient are unsettling. Following Do Ji-ui, whose face is a mix of anger and worry, Yuk Ha-ri’s expression conveys complexity and sadness. Fans are eager to find out who the patient is and the stories behind the secrets and wounds each character carries.

The production team of Doctor Island Boy shared, “The first week will depict Do Ji-ui’s struggle to adapt to Pyundong-do, where nothing comes easy. Please look forward to the first incident Do Ji-ui faces as he navigates the dangers of events, people, and love on the island, as well as how his relationship with Yuk Ha-ri unfolds.”

The drama premieres on June 1.
