Seo Jang-hoon Gives a Reality Check on ‘Ask Anything’: “Discipline Needs ‘Push and Pull’ Just Like Dating!”

Seo Jang-hoon Gives a Reality Check on 'Ask Anything':

Seo Jang-hoon delivered a sharp wake-up call to a couple worried about their three children dropping out of school.

On the May 4th episode of KBS Joy’s variety show ‘Ask Anything’, a couple raising three children met MCs Seo Jang-hoon and Lee Soo-geun, sharing their worries that even their youngest child might drop out of school.

The couple revealed, “We started our married life early and have two daughters and a son. Our first child dropped out in the 10th grade. The second child followed suit, and now the youngest son makes excuses to avoid school because everyone else is asleep in the morning.” Currently, the eldest daughter is 18, the second daughter is 17, and the youngest is 13.

Hearing this, Seo Jang-hoon asked, “I’m curious, were you the kind of parents who gave your children total freedom?” When the guest replied that they let their kids skip academies if they didn’t want to go, Seo Jang-hoon was baffled. “Wait, is that your philosophy as a couple? You just don’t make them do it if they don’t want to?” he asked. “Regardless of whether you force them or not, you’re the type who doesn’t scold them strictly even when they do something wrong, right?”

Seo Jang-hoon specifically noted, “You work hard and want to give your kids everything they want, and since you became parents at a young age, you’ve probably just spoiled them. You should set fixed rules, support them when they do well, and stop them when they cross the line. Because there are no proper standards, both the kids and the parents must have struggled.” He then gave some blunt advice: “People usually do ‘push and pull’ when dating. You have to do that with your children too.”
