Actor Kim Jung-tae’s wife was amazed to see her son, who usually finds it hard to communicate with strangers, confidently lead the way and chat naturally whenever English is involved!
On May 4, TV CHOSUN’s ‘Dad and I’ uploaded a shorts video titled “Jung-tae’s family in Itaewon! Ji-hoo flying high with English in front of foreigners.”
In the clip, Kim Jung-tae headed to Itaewon with his wife and two sons. Kim Jung-tae explained, “Ji-hoo loves talking to foreigners. Since there are so many foreigners in Itaewon, we decided to visit.”
When a foreign staff member greeted them in English at a restaurant, Kim Jung-tae and his second son looked a bit flustered. Ji-hoo, however, was a different story! He chatted naturally with the staff member in English without any hesitation and even handled the ordering perfectly.
Watching this, Han Hye-jin noted, “Ji-hoo looks comfortable.” Kim Jung-tae’s wife was also stunned, saying, “It was a series of surprises. I felt that he is truly comfortable with foreigners.”

This moment is especially touching because of Ji-hoo’s growth. Ji-hoo, who typically prefers being alone, was recently diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome on ‘Dad and I’.
But he’s been surprising everyone lately by learning how to mingle! He’s even started approaching his younger brother’s friends first and asking about common interests to keep the conversation flowing.
Kim Jung-tae admitted, “It was the first time I’ve seen this,” while his wife shared, “Ji-hoo has changed. Before, the conversations were one-sided, but today I was surprised that he asked about common interests. His social skills have really improved.”
