Kim Seon Ho Makes First Public Appearance After Settling Taxes, Promises “Healing and Happiness” in New Show

Actor Kim Seon Ho has made his first public appearance after completing the additional payment of personal income tax, in addition to the corporate tax already paid.

On the 6th, a production presentation for Coupang Play’s new variety show “Bonjour Bakery” was held at the Community House in Myeong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.

“Bonjour Bakery” is a healing baking variety show set in Korea’s first “senior dessert cafe” opened in a quiet rural village. It is a place where seniors who know the taste of life and bakery staff who know the taste of happiness share sweet comfort and warmth. With a unique concept called the “Yes Senior Zone” cafe, where only seniors aged 65 and older and their companions can enter, the show promises fresh fun and heartwarming connections like never before.

Kim Seon Ho takes on the role of a “barista,” showcasing his charm as the “nation’s grandson.” With his gentle smile and friendly reactions, he is expected to melt the hearts of the seniors and deliver happiness in every fragrant cup of coffee.

This production presentation garnered significant attention as it was Kim Seon Ho’s first appearance after clarifying and apologizing for tax evasion controversies. Previously, it was reported that in January 2024, he established a separate corporation for performance planning at his home address in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Analysis suggested this was a special purpose entity for management and income distribution. Furthermore, circumstances were noted where salaries were paid to his parents via the corporate account and then returned, or corporate cards were used for personal living expenses and entertainment.

In response, Kim Seon Ho’s side stated, “The previous one-person corporation was established for play production and related activities, and was absolutely not created for the purpose of intentional tax avoidance or evasion. The closing process is currently underway.” They also confirmed that additional personal income tax has been paid on top of the existing corporate tax.

Appearing in public for the first time, Kim Seon Ho shared, “Since this is a program where I both give and receive healing from the seniors, I worked very hard. Because the seniors are the protagonists and we are there to provide them with healing, I strove to make them feel happy. I did my best and approached it with a happy heart.”

Writer Kim Ran Joo mentioned, “The seniors were hesitant, wondering if they were allowed to enter, but Kim Seon Ho approached them a lot. He kept greeting them, which helped the seniors feel comfortable entering.” Kim Hee Ae added, “His image is like a gentle man, but he was very passionate when working. There was a surprising twist.”
