On the 7th, DJ Soda shared a video on her SNS, announcing, “I’ve finally switched to a short cut, one year after the bleaching incident!”
The released video reveals her journey of slowly growing back her hair after the bleaching accident. DJ Soda also showed off her new transformation, swapping long hair for a chic black short cut.
She opened up about the struggle, saying, “I went through a really hard time after that incident, to the point where I suffered from insomnia and social anxiety, but time really is the best medicine.” She added, “I didn’t get any extensions or additional procedures; I just grew it out for a year, only wearing wigs for performances or shoots.”
Continuing, she explained, “I felt that if my hair had broken this much on the outside, the internal damage would be even worse. Instead of forcing more treatments, I wanted to give my hair time to heal naturally.” She added, “So for the past year, even though my appearance was rough, I endured the embarrassment and focused entirely on scalp care.”
She also shared some funny moments: “Surprisingly, some people saw my messy hair as a style and told me it looked unique and cool. There were even airport security staff who were shocked when they saw the back of my head after checking my face!”
Previously, DJ Soda revealed that in June last year, most of her hair broke during a bleaching process. At the time, she shared the heartbreaking news that her hair had “melted from the roots,” leaving only about 10% of her hair remaining.
“Everyone, I’ve finally switched to a short cut one year after the bleaching incident!”
“I feel like I’ve held on for a really long time.”
“I went through such a difficult time after that incident, even dealing with insomnia and social anxiety… I guess time really is the best medicine.”
“I didn’t get any extensions or additional procedures. I just grew it out for a year, only using wigs for performances or shoots.”
“I wanted to show you all my natural and confident recovery rather than trying to hide it.”
“I still remember how they used heat tools again while claiming to ‘care’ for my hair right after the incident. Even when I told them to stop because my scalp hurt so much, they kept drying it with hot air.”
“I also remember two of them giggling while talking about extensions.”
“If I had gotten extensions from the start as the salon suggested, my hair would have been even more damaged because it wouldn’t have been able to handle the weight.”
“I thought that if my hair had broken this much on the outside, the internal damage would be even greater. So instead of forcing anything, I wanted to give my hair time to heal naturally.”
“That’s why for the past year, although I looked rough, I put up with the embarrassment and worked really hard on scalp care.”
“But surprisingly, some people saw this ‘beggar-like’ hair as a style and told me it was unique and cool.”
“It was also funny when airport security staff were surprised by the back of my head after checking my face.”
“Oh, and for those wondering about the conclusion of the salon incident, instead of a proper apology, they actually tried to attack me by sending false reports to the media, but that was blocked.”
“While I was struggling, it seems they’ve been doing well, even moving their shop as if nothing happened.”
“I heard they were furious when I made baking soda t-shirts, claiming I made everything up just to make money from selling them. I bet they’ll be startled seeing this post.”
