While Kang Jun-ho’s (Park Gun-il) twisted obsession for Oh Jang-mi (Ham Eun-jung) continues to grow, signs are emerging that the relationship between Ma Dae-chang (Lee Hyo-jung) and Jung Sook-hee (Jung So-young) will finally be revealed.
In the May 7th episode of the MBC daily drama ‘First Man’, Kang Jun-ho’s obsession with Oh Jang-mi reached an extreme, while the truth surrounding Jung Sook-hee’s identity began to surface.
Chae Hwa-young (Oh Hyun-kyung) began to suspect that Jung Sook-hee might be Ma Dae-chang’s biological daughter after seeing a four-leaf clover she made. Although she struggled to accept this because she believed Jung Sook-hee and Ma Dong-seok were siblings, she couldn’t shake the suspicion.
Meanwhile, with Ma Dae-chang’s blessing, Oh Jang-mi and Kang Baek-ho (Yoon Sun-woo) planned to start preparing for their wedding. However, unable to accept this, Kang Jun-ho remained obsessed and unstable.
Kang Jun-ho pleaded with Oh Jang-mi, claiming, “Our marriage was just paused, not broken,” and insisted his feelings were sincere, begging her to reconsider her marriage to Kang Baek-ho. Oh Jang-mi remained firm, drawing a clear line by stating, “My marriage to you was business, not love,” and pushed him away, declaring she is marrying Kang Baek-ho because she loves him.
The more Oh Jang-mi rejected him, the more intense Kang Jun-ho’s obsession became. He revealed a mix of anxiety and rage, declaring, “I will never be abandoned by anyone.”
Ma Seo-rin’s (Ham Eun-jung) anger was also growing. She intentionally told Kang Jun-ho about the marriage news between Oh Jang-mi and Kang Baek-ho and suggested he marry her instead. She tempted him, saying, “Are you still unable to forget Oh Jang-mi? Shouldn’t you come to me now? Didn’t you intend to marry me in the first place? Don’t hide your desires.”
Kang Jun-ho’s reaction was unexpected. He shocked Ma Seo-rin by stating, “I think you’ve got it wrong. I intended to marry her knowing she was Oh Jang-mi. It wasn’t Ma Seo-rin I wanted to marry.” Ma Seo-rin could not hide her fury after her feelings and calculations were completely dismissed.
Han Young-ja’s (Choi Ji-yeon) desire for revenge also deepened. After noticing that Lee Kang-hyuk (Lee Jae-hwang) has special feelings for Chae Hwa-young, she decided to use this for her revenge. She left a sharp warning, saying, “Chae Hwa-young, Kang Nam-bong, I won’t let you get away with this. You messed with the wrong person,” heightening the tension for future episodes.
At the end of the broadcast, Ma Dae-chang learned that his biological daughter is alive, while Jung Sook-hee was shown completing a four-leaf clover to give to him. As the long-hidden secret of her birth is about to come to light, the tension for the upcoming plot increases.
