Hong Jin-kyung of ‘Study King Genuine Genius’ has opened up about her approach to her daughter’s education.
On the 7th, a video titled “Hong Jin-kyung’s shocking declaration to completely revise her YouTube channel” was uploaded to the ‘Study King Genuine Genius’ channel.
During the video, Hong Jin-kyung shared, “I started this channel in February 2021. Since we live in an era where AI can provide all the answers and there’s no need to memorize everything, I want to do a mid-term check on what we actually need to study.”
When the production team jokingly asked if she was changing the channel’s direction because her daughter, Lael, lost interest in college, Hong Jin-kyung laughed.
She candidly confessed, “Lael has no intention of going to college, and I don’t particularly feel the need to send her.” She added her firm belief, “If there’s something specific she truly wants to learn, then college is the way to go, but I don’t see the point in just following the crowd.”
She further explained, “It’s better for her to start doing what she loves early, even if it’s starting a business. She’s had a very clear lack of interest in studying. I noticed it when she was four. I thought she might change as she grew up, but she’s remained consistent,” she added with a laugh.
