Choi Hong-man’s travelogue, ‘Gulliver’s Travels,’ is finally being revealed!
Channel A’s ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ is a real travel variety show featuring the 218cm giant Choi Hong-man along with Kim Won-hoon and Cho Jin-se from Shortbox. The show follows Choi Hong-man, a man whose size has made it impossible to be ordinary, as he navigates a foreign land that feels like ‘Lilliput’ in a realistic travel series.
Due to his massive build, Choi Hong-man hasn’t had many chances to truly enjoy free overseas travel. Now, he is taking on his first-ever travel variety show with Shortbox, bringing unexpected laughter and relatability. While he looks imposing, Choi Hong-man reveals a surprising side with a delicate and soft sensibility, and his natural chemistry with Shortbox, who act as his ‘professional assistants,’ adds a fresh layer of fun.
The first stop is Macau, a city where Eastern and Western cultures coexist. Although he dreamed of a free trip, the struggle begins the moment he boards the plane. From the slippers and bathrooms to the business class seats, everything feels tiny, creating hilarious moments as Choi Hong-man’s overwhelming presence takes over. Even after arriving in Macau, he draws attention wherever he goes. In the hot and humid weather, Choi Hong-man’s energy drains rapidly, leading Shortbox to launch the ‘Gulliver Charging Project’ for more laughs.
Eventually, Choi Hong-man finds himself stranded in the middle of the Macau Peninsula, surrounded by local tourists. In this bittersweet ‘Gulliver’ situation, Kim Won-hoon and Cho Jin-se find themselves freed from the ‘filial piety tour’ and dive into their own local free travel, promising even more comedy.
In the upcoming third episode, viewers can expect to see a surprisingly sincere side of Choi Hong-man as he becomes emotional under the dazzling night views of the Macau Peninsula. Anticipation is building for the second day in Macau, which promises a mix of laughter and touching moments.
The show airs on Channel A on the 23rd at 12 PM.
