The story of Shin Shin-ja, who achieved annual sales of 40 billion won through a jokbal business, will be unveiled on ‘Seo Jang-hoon’s Next Door Millionaire’.
CEO Shin Shin-ja of a jokbal franchise will appear on the EBS show ‘Seo Jang-hoon’s Next Door Millionaire’ airing on the 20th. The episode will showcase her massive factory producing jokbal, pyeonyuk, and sundae, along with the secrets behind her business success.
Shin Shin-ja’s factory spans approximately 20,000 pyeong and reportedly produces about 20 tons of product daily. The site is so vast that golf carts are used for transport, and it even includes dormitories, a staff daycare center, and facilities for producing kimchi and beverages.
The show will also dive into the jokbal manufacturing process. From washing raw trotters and boiling them in broth to the drying stage, viewers will see the whole process, including the use of a torch to remove remaining hairs from the boiled trotters. Seo Jang-hoon will even try his hand at the task!
Once an ordinary housewife, Shin Shin-ja jumped into entrepreneurship at age 29 to support her family. By gathering all her savings, taking out loans, and receiving help from relatives, she opened a Western-style restaurant and built a strong business foundation with significant profits.
She also revealed, “The first building I bought was the place where I used to live as a tenant.” The building is reportedly located near the famous bakery Sungsimdang in Daejeon. Interestingly, Shin Shin-ja has not raised the rent for this building for about 37 years.
The episode will reveal the journey of how she became a landlord and the reason why she kept the rent frozen for so long.
