Small cinemas in Yangyang and Goseong, Gangwon, are rolling out various discount events and promotions to help local residents enjoy more cultural activities.

Yangyang Small Cinema, a cultural hub for the area, is hosting “Popcorn Set Giveaway Events” throughout May to celebrate major anniversaries.

On Children’s Day (May 5), surprise gifts were given to toddlers and elementary students, which was a huge hit with families. On Parents’ Day (May 8), special benefits were provided to viewers aged 65 and older.

The celebrations continue! On Coming-of-Age Day (May 19), those born in 2007 who have become adults this year will receive a popcorn set. On Couple’s Day (May 21), couples visiting the cinema together will receive the same treat.

To join in, viewers just need to present their movie ticket and a valid ID or supporting document on-site.

Please note that group viewings or private rentals are not eligible for these benefits.

A representative from Yangyang Small Cinema shared, “We hope the cinema becomes more than just a place to watch movies, but a space where families and neighbors can share precious memories together.”

Meanwhile, the Goseong Cultural Foundation, under Goseong-gun, is holding a discount event at Dalhol Cinema after being selected for the Korean Film Council’s “National Movie Viewing Activation Support Project.”

The event runs from May 13 to October 31, allowing visitors to watch any film screening at Dalhol Cinema for just 1,000 KRW.

This year’s project has an expanded budget of 21 million KRW, with approximately 3,550 people expected to benefit. With a discount of 6,000 KRW per person, the cost of watching a movie has been significantly reduced.

Online reservations are limited to two tickets per person, while on-site bookings have no limit on the number of people.

However, the event may end early if the support budget is fully exhausted.

A representative from the Goseong Cultural Foundation stated, “We will continue to provide substantial support so that more residents can enjoy cultural life without any financial burden.”
