In the 167th episode of MBC’s ‘Oh Eun-young Report – Marriage Hell’ aired on the 11th, the story of the “Off-beat Couple” was revealed. The couple consists of a wife who is a Gayageum Byeongchang performer and instructor, and a husband who has been a trot singer for 11 years.
The wife has an impressive career, including receiving a Presidential Award, and leads a hectic life teaching at an arts high school and giving private lessons. Meanwhile, the husband, who handles most of the childcare and housework, expressed his frustration by constantly messaging his wife to come home while she was in the middle of a lesson. The husband felt that “work comes first for her,” while the wife expressed frustration, saying, “I think he takes my work too lightly.”
The tension rose as the husband called his wife through their daughter and sent continuous messages urging her to finish work when she was late returning from a lesson. Dr. Oh Eun-young pointed out the husband’s attitude, stating, “I felt uncomfortable throughout the video. It seems he does not respect his working wife.”
The “Off-beat Couple” showed a stark difference in their views on parenting. While the husband expressed a strong will to make their first child walk, even if it meant being strict, the wife noted that “my husband speaks to the children in a somewhat strong tone.” Dr. Oh Eun-young advised, “The first child is a child with medical difficulties. What a child with scars needs is the support of their parents.”
Everyone was shocked when the husband left their 6-year-old second child and 16-month-old third child home alone to take the first child to school. The husband, who usually doesn’t leave the children alone, explained, “Since the school and home are close, my wife has also occasionally taken the children out one by one.” Dr. Oh Eun-young emphasized with a stern expression, “It was a stroke of luck today.
